The Tooth MONSTER!

Okay moms! I need some help...or at least some support! It is now 11:00 pm and my child is awake and in terrible pain from her teeth. I tried Motrin and it does not seem to help! All day today, she rubbed at her cheeks and cried. She clung to me for dear life and would not let anyone else look at her...let alone TOUCH her! I feel so bad for her, but I don't know what to do! I'm just letting her lay on the couch and watch TV because it is the only thing that will keep her from screaming! Does anyone have any tips? How long does this terrible teething last???

The BEST thing that worked for me was to put ice cubes in one of those baby mesh feeding bags, and let them have at it. (they are made by Munchkin, Sassy, and KidCo) I also put orajel ALL OVER their gums. Just let her have anything cold that doesn't require a lot of chewing, like popsicles. You can always get the sugar free kind so it doesn't rot the pearly whites that are trying to surface! If it's her canines coming in, they are particularly hurty, as well as molars. So basically anything past your four front teeth, watch out!

freeze a wet (clean) washcloth and let her chew on that. Orajel worked for us... oh man. I'm sorry. teething can be miserable. Makoa did ok. And Ezekiel is breaking his bottom two - not cool.

I 2nd the cold washcloth. We also used teether tablets and Orajel. It's like the rest of the teeth, once a bit pokes through the skin, it's not as bad. Don't worry, it doesn't last forever! Baylee has gotten all 4 molars mostly through in the past month and a half. so, I feel ya. Hang in there girly!

Just something cold, but motrin and orajel were my best friends at times. I always felt bad for my kids when they teethed.

I used a little whiskey to rub on my kids' gums. I'M KIDDING!!!!!!!!! There isn't much you can do for them besides alternating motrin and tylenol. Of course there's the usual orajel and whatnot, too. They all help, but nothing will cure it. You both have to suffer for the most part though. I just gave my kids whatever they wanted (TV at all hours, sleep in my bed, any toy, popsicles, yogurt-anything cold really-etc) I'd even freeze washclothes and let them munch on them-clean, of course. Sometimes I'd buy them their own special toy-like a new, SOFT baby doll. The new and soft always made a nice comforting combination for them.
