Many Posts Combined into one!

Christmas Eve
It has been a while since I have posted, but I have good reasons. My family was in town for Christmas and I have not been home to type anything in days! I will start back from Christmas Eve. We all opened our Jammie's from my wonderful parents. Kennedy got a beautiful princess nightgown which she loved so much that she cried when we took it of to get her dressed the next day. After getting dresses in our pajamas, we went to eat at IHOP before going to look at Christmas lights. Kennedy was so excited about everything that she would not go to bed! We figured that since it was Christmas eve, we would let her stay up. (she did not go to bed until 12:30!)
Christmas Day
Christmas morning, she did not wake up until 10:00, so we did not open presents until around then. After she opened her stocking, she just wanted to play with everything. She opened about 2 presents before she was on overload and went to her room to play with her toys. Christian and ended up opening most of her gifts and she did not mind one bit. I think that her favorite gift was "The Little Mermaid" DVD and a princess dress up truck. She got a video game system (vmotion) from my mom, but since she did not know what it was, she said "I don't wike that one". She makes me laugh! Liam just chilled a always and got a lot of clothes. I got a new camera, so I was happy! Christian got a Wii, so we have had fun playing with that lately. After gifts, we opened MORE gifts at grandma Linda's before going to eat Christmas dinner at Christian's aunts house. I was such a wonderful day.

Day after Christmas: Blessing Day
We blessed Liam on Saturday at the church. It was so low key and a lot of family was able to make it out. Liam looked so cute in his little white outfit and he was good the entire time. He is such a sweet baby boy. I know i keep saying that, but he is the best baby. We love him so much and are so happy that he is a part of our family.

An angel and a demon

Little Liam is not so little anymore! He is 2 months old and 12 pounds now! He is already in 3 month clothing and he pushes his head up, smiles and coos. He really is an angel baby and hardly ever cries!
On another note, Kennedy has been acting like a little demon lately! It is not just her being 2 years old either! She is so hyperactive and challenging! Saturday at about 1:30 am, I went into her room and she was still awake!!! No lie! I started a new routine where I bathe her and then read to her til a timer goes off. Then I say goodnight and leave. She tries for about an hour to come out asking for drinks, saying she is scared and lots of other excuses. I put her back in bed and leave. She always stays awake! Last night, she was still up reading a book at MIDNIGHT! My child is never tired! We woke her up earlier today to see if that will help, but I doubt it. She will just nap and then stay up late again. It is horrible! She also loves to climb on the counters to get whatever she wants instead of asking. She thinks she can do everything alone. Here I am, a graduate of college with a bachelors in Early Childhood education and I can't get my own kid to go to bed or go potty! I tried all of the tricks that I learned in my classes and they DO NOT WORK! She is so independent and stubborn. I love her to death but man! I need some help from super nanny or something! (or from you if you have any advice!) Here is what I need help with...
1. She knows how to go pee and poo on the potty cause she does it when she wants to, but she prefers to go in her pull up and then ask to have a new pull up when she goes in it! We tried treats, but she does not seem to care what the prize is.
2. SHE NEVER GOES TO BED NO MATTER WHAT WE TRY!!!
3. She won't ever sit still to eat. We can't take her anywhere cause she just wants to run around instead of eat. If we try to hold her in her seat she will just scream bloody murder. We don't want to bother other people so we let her go!
4. She has bad tantrums...like lays down and kicks the floor screaming. I ignore her for now, but they don't seem to stop. She has even hit her head against the wall which makes her cry harder but she does it on purpose!
so, I am so happy I have an angel baby so that I can try to deal with Kennedy but really, my education is not helping me here! She is a funny girl and we love her. I just don't know if she needs medication or what!

Christmas Time

Christmas time has been so much fun this year because Kennedy has been into all of the fun activities! She loved decorating the Christmas tree and she kept saying "YAY! It'a Christmas! Grammy Bee is coming!" She is so excited because we keep telling her that her grandparents and aunt are coming for Christmas. So whenever we do anything Christmas-y, that is what she says. She even loves Santa this year! She has already seen him at the mall and at a Christmas party. She likes to tell him that she wants more Princesses for Christmas.

On Thursday night, we went to the festival of trees to see all of the AMAZING trees that people decorated for Primary Children's hospital. It took all of Kennedy's will power to not touch the care bears tree and the Disney princess tree. She even go a manicure while we were there and loved every second of it!

as for Liam, he still just sleeps all night and day. He is such a good baby and I love him to pieces!

P.S. Kennedy split her head open on the car door which you can see in the pictures

Slacker!

Chubba Wubba

I have been such a slacker lately in the blogging world. I think it is having 2 kids and trying my best to clean up after Kennedy lately. It is pretty pointless to clean up after her (since she messes things right back up) but if I don't do it, the house looks like a tornado went through it by nightfall. This past week, I also started taking Liam out a bit more. On Saturday,we went down to visit my great-grandma so that she could see Liam and give him the adorable quilt that she made. I can not believe that she is 95 and still making quilts! On Sunday, we went up to the mountains so that Kennedy could ride the tram to the tip top of the mountain for free! It was a scary ride up and down, but the view at the top was beautiful! I wanted to get a picture of us at the top, but I had to stay in the warming hut with Liam because it was FREEZING up there. Plus, we did not want Kennedy to get too close to the edge. It was a fun little Sunday outing though. Not much else to report. Liam is getting to be quite the little chunk (see picture) and Kennedy is crazy and hilarious as always! She can make Christian and I laugh all day long!
View from the top of snowbird. You can see salt lake valley!
We are level with the other mountain tops and it freaked me out!

Our little modelOh, Kennedy sleeps in her own bed all night now! YAY!!!

Halloween!

This Halloween was great! During the day, we went to Gardner's village so that Kennedy could see all of the witches. She loves scary things for some reason and she loves to scare herself. I guess she is really my child! That night, we did door to door trick or treating. Kennedy loved going house to house and filling her bag with candy. She was very friendly with every one and people loved her. After trick or treating, we went to rent movies. It was so hilarious to watch Kennedy pick up about 50 movies and say "Mommy, Look what I found "Ariel". Mommy, look what I found, "My little Pony"!" etc. She had about 7 DVDs in her hands when we went to check out and cried when I put all but 2 of them back. My child is a movie FREAK!!! Besides that, Liam is doing well and is so cute. We did not take him out this year because he is still so little. Next year buddy!

The Cutest Bee ever!

On Saturday night, we went to our old ward's Trunk or Treat. Kennedy was a bee this year, and I think she is the cutest little bee EVER! Apparently I was not the only one who thought that because she won the cutest costume! She won a pumpkin Halloween bag and said "yay yay!" even though she had no idea what was going on. She had so much fun running from car to car to get candy. She even went to the scary cars that had people in really scary costumes passing out the candy. She ran so far ahead of me and could not have cared less. It is so cute to see her finally understanding Halloween. Liam, of course, slept through the whole thing.
Her classic "I'm not smiling" face!
Winning best costume!
I took a few pictures this morning of the kids together. Liam was on the floor and Kennedy laid down next to him and loved on him. She loves when he is awake so that she can hug him and kiss him. She always says "him awake-p". Ya, she ads a P sound on the en of awake. I don't correct her because I think it is really cute. haha! I guess that is all I have to say for now. I am still just trying to get into the swing of things.

Funny Things

It was my first week home alone with 2 kids and can I can say that it was pretty tough! It is not because Liam is hard to take care of. He just eats and sleeps and NEVER cries. It is Kennedy that has been hard in every situation. It is funny because she will love on him and kiss him when he is on his boppy pillow, but as soon as I pick him up, she says "NO mommy! Baby Liam goes on the pillow!" She never wants me to touch or hold him, and if I do, she needs something right that second! I hope she adjusts soon.

On another note, Kennedy was so funny the other day and I WISH I had taken a picture. Kennedy was being quiet...too quiet. I went to look for her and I saw her in my bedroom playing with the breast pump. She held the pumps up to her shirt and looked confused that it was not working. She then lifted up her shirt and tucked it under her chin and tried again! She held the pumps in place and when it did not work, she just tossed them back on the floor. I thought that was soooo funny!

Funny story #2: My mom bought Kennedy a package that included all of the Disney princess dolls. Needless to say, she is in love with them and has to take them everywhere! The other day, she asked for a "hot tub" for her dolls. I filled a Tupperware with warm water so that she could pretend that was their tub. The next thing we knew, Kennedy had all of her clothes off...including her diaper...and was trying to fit into the Tupperware with the dolls! We almost died laughing! She ended up spilling the water everywhere, but it was worth it to see her trying so hard to fit in. HA HA!

Kennedy also decided that she does not want to use the potty anymore. I know when she is going potty because she locks herself in her room and opens the door when she is done. I have decided to just let her come to me on her own tome and not force it for now. I have about 100 diapers left for her. Once they are gone, we will try again.

As for Liam, he is the BEST baby ever. I have yet to hear him cry (except for when he was first born) and he sleeps almost all day and all night except to eat. He is such a sweet boy and I am so glad that he is home with us.

He is home!

Baby Liam got to come hoe yesterday...FINALLY! He is still on iv meds and it has been hard on me to give him his 2 medications through the iv twice. He gets one at 4:30 am and 4:30 pm and another at 5:30 am and 5:30 pm. Needless to say, that means NO sleep for me. I have to be up at 4:30 to give him his meds and stay up until the last one is done at around 6:00. Then, he is up and ready to eat at 6:00. Last night was the first night and I can say that I am exhausted! Christian took Kennedy out today so I am going to try and get some sleep. An update on Liam is that he is almost over his pneumonia. He is doing really well. I have to take him in on Monday for the doctor to check and see if it is gone and to check his jaundice. He had that pretty badly as well. He is a very good baby. In fact, he did not even cry when they drew his blood yesterday. Poor baby is so used to getting poked and prodded that he barley moves when I put his iv meds in.

As for his birth, I got to the hospital at 8:00am and my contractions started getting pretty bad at about 12:00 when I was 5 cm dilated. Since I thought that it would still be a few more hours, I got the epidural but kept it kind of low so that I could feel when I was having a contraction. I was feeling SOOOO much pressure about an hour after that I had Christian look under the sheet to see if his head was coming out. I really felt like he was coming out of my butt instead of the other way. Christian said "you are only 5 cm, he is not coming out!" But, I called the nurse for her to come and check. She came and said "you are 9 cm and about ready to push." I could not believe that I went from 5 to 9 cm in an hour! I was in labor with kennedy for 12 hours!!! The nurse and my doctor came back in a few minutes later and I stated to push. I could feel the contractions and the pressure of him coming out which was something I never felt with Kennedy. (I pushed the epidural button WAY too many times with her. haha!) I asked the nurse if I should push the epidural button while I pushed so that I could not feel it and she said "no honey...his head is almost out. Let's just have this baby." I was afraid because I had to push for an hour with Kennedy and I did not want that to happen when I could feel the pressure. Yes, I am a wimp okay! I pushed 3 times and his head was out. I pushed 3 more times and his whole body was out! In all, it took me 15 minutes to push him out. I could not believe how much easier this birth was than the last one. Just think, if I had not asked for the epidural when I did, it may have been too late. That is my worst nightmare! Liam came out healthy and scored a 9 on the apgar scale. They handed him to me and I go to have him the rest of the day, night and the next day. Sunday afternoon, they said that he was breathing way too fast and took him away. I thought that they would bring him right back. When the doctor told me that he would not be coming home with me the next day, I cried and cried.

This last week has been so hard on me. I hated seeing my baby poked over and over again! He had an iv in his foot, both hands and in his head 3 times! His poor heels are all bruised from having his blood drawn daily. He has red marks all over his skin and he is just so beat up. My poor baby!

I am so happy that he is finally home now and I can't wait until he gets his iv out of his head. I can barely stand that part. Thank you all for your prayers and support this past week. Happy week old birthday Liam!
