New Things

This past week, we had a new cousin for Kennedy and enjoyed some new experiences as well. Last Friday, Kennedy's cousin, Brayden, was born. We all wen to the hospital to see them and got these cute pictures. I really can't remember Kennedy ever being that tiny, but I guess she was. It is amazing to me how fast time has flown by!
Last Saturday, we also went to a freinds brthday party and met up with Kennedy's friends, Korbin. (it's an arranged marriage. haha!) He is one day older than her and they are so cute together. Since the weather was so nice this week, Korbins mom, Mary, and I decided to take the kids swimming...too an indoor pool of course. The baby's had so much fun swinging and splashing. Kennedy is a water baby. She loved it! It's fun to have other mom's to hang out with. It gets kind of boring here in the winter.
Well, the big news of today is that Kennedy is officially mobile! OH NO! I was on the phone with a friend, and when I walked around the corner, Kens was playing with the cat scratcher which was about 5 feet away from where I laid her down! I sat her back up to see what she would do and she got up on all fours and started scooting! It is exciting, but scary at the same time. Now I actually have to keep the house spotless so that she doesn't put nasty cat stuff in her mouth. I love that she is doing new things though. Each stage brings new excitement!

She's getting so big!

I can't believe how big Kennedy is getting! It feels like she was born last month and now she is almost 6 months old! People always tell me "Oh, she's so little for 5 months!" She is in the 70th percentile in weight, so I highly doubt she is that little. Judge for your self. She is sitting up, rolling, trying to scoot across the floor and talking up a storm. She is so smart too! She dunks her toys to get water in them and drinks the water (I know it's sick, but it's cute too) then she dunks it again for more water. It is so funny! We went to the doctor on Tuesday and found out that she had a little RSV. She had a breathing treatment done and got some antibiotics so I hope it helps. Her little cough sounds so pathetic. She has been a good sport through it all and keeps on smiling!
On another note, my sister in law, amy, is in labor with her baby boy so I will be a first time aunt soon. I will post pics when he gets here! This final picture is Christian's doing. Even though she looks like a boy in this, it is Christian's fave outfit for her. Ha ha!

how I really feel

I'm posting this blog from a cell phone so this will have some errors. I had to post now because I realized how annoyed I am about something that anyone with kids knows about. So I was at the mall yesterday with my baby in her stroller, just minding my own business when out from nowhere, some kid comes and sticks his hand in my kids mouth. Rather than push the kid out of the way like I wanted to do, I scanned the store for a parent or someone who would take control of him. About 2 feet behind him was his mom and dad smiling as if it was so cute to see their sweet boy shoving his dirty hands into the mouth of a 5 month old. I watched in horror as they just stood there allowing this. Finally, I just rolled away hoping they would not follow. Right after the event, my husband said that it grossed him out and he was also appauled that the parents did not say stop, sorry or anything. I guess this is no big deal if it was a one time occurance, but people (mostly adults) are always under the assumption that they can rub my childs face and let her suck on their fingers. That is so sick! One woman at the mall just caressed her face and I could do nothing but muster up a discusted smile. I mean what can I say? Stop touching my child before you give her a disease? The final straw happened today when someone at church took her from my hands and kissed all over her face. I cringed but was mute yet again. How do I stop the madness? I'm not a mean person. You can hold her if I know you and you don't have green mucus, but how do I keep strangers and sickies from her without Being rude? Its common sense right? Guess not.

Pictures!

Hi Everyone! I finally got some way cute pictures off of Christian's new i phone and decided to share them all with you. The first picture is of Kennedy with her Great, great grandma K. It was so cute to see them together. Kennedy could not take her eyes off of her. The next picture is one of my favorites. We were at Christian's grandparents house and Kennedy saw this picture of Jesus hanging up. She reached out to it and we had to take a picture. She was touching Jesus' face and smiling. It was so precious. Kennedy has been trying her hardest to crawl lately, but she can't quite figure it out yet. I took a few pictures of her trying to crawl and they turned out pretty cute. We also bought her a bouncy chair that hangs up in the doorway. She loves to bounce away in it. I can't believe how big she is getting.

For Valentine's day, Christian took me to the Jim Brickmand concert. It was really good! It was not Christian's kind of music, but he said that he enjoyed it. I was glad that he sat through it for me because I had a good time. We left Kennedy with her grandparents. The last few pictures are of her on Valentine's day but for some reason, they won't load. I will post another blog tomorrow and see if the pictures will post then.

Music Lover

Well, I guess we knew it would happen since both Christian and I love music...Kennedy loves music too! Last Friday, Kennedy and I went to watch daddy's band practice. We thought that the music might be to loud and scare her, but she loved it! She could not take her eyes off of the instruments. After the music set, she would bounce on her legs as if she was excited for more! She is such a fun girl!

I wanted to let you all know that due to technical difficulties (I mean by loosing the video camera charger) We have not been able to get any videos of Kennedy which makes me very sad. The radio Shack guy told us that we can buy a universal charger for our camera which I am going to do tomorrow. As soon as I do that, we will be making, and posting, videos of us and of the baby. That will be fun. At least I will be able to get it on film when she crawls and walks. I am sad about all of the great stuff that we missed though like her first laugh, and some other funny moments. I guess I'll just have to write about them and rememebr them that way.

As soon as I get a new charger, and new batteries for my camera, (I know, I am so bad) I will be posting many more pics and videos for you all!

Sick days

I guess I didn't do too well with keeping my promise of writing more often. It has been over a month since our last entry, but I dont think that I have too much to write about. It has been so cold and snowy the past few weeks. I am so tired of the snow and cold. It makes me want to stay indoors at all times. Even though I have done well at keeping kennedy warm and indoors, we still both managed to get sick. It is so sad to hear her cough and wheeze. She has still been a happy girl though. She is a sweety!

At the end of January, Christian had to work up at the Sundance film festival. I got to go up for a night and eat at chefdance with his company. We also got to go to the LL Cool J concert which was a nice break for me since Kennedy was left with Christian's mom until about 2 am. I was so tired the next day which made me feel really old. haha!

Kennedy laughs a lot now. It is fun to see what is funny to her. She laughs at christian when he sings to her and she is very ticklish. Uncle Jayson said "It's fun to play with her now that she's not a slug anymore." The other day, I laid Kennedy on her blanket on the ground. I made some lunch, and when I came back, she had rolled about 5 feet away from the blanket. She is so active now. I have more fun being a mom everyday!

Besides that, I don't think there is anything left to report on. I hope it stops snowing soon so that we can actually go out and have a good time!
