Vegas!

Vegas was a blast! Unfortunately, pictures will have to wait because my camera was left in my parents rental and now has to be mailed back to me. Besides that, everything else was perfect! Kennedy was so good on the way down. She did not even cry! She had so much fun down there swimming, going down water slides (by herself and on her tummy!) eating good food and going to the indoor amusement park at Circus Circus. We all had fun walking the strip and just being together with my family. Thanks to my family for basically paying for our whole trip after that terrible ordeal the day before we left. They treated us to some great food and a cirque show while we were there. Every minute of our trip was so fun and I am so glad we were able to go and do so many things. It was sad to leave (especially knowing we had a LONG trip ahead of us) but my family will be back next month for my brothers missionary farewell! I will post pictures when I have them.

The terrible, horrible, no good very bad day!

Anyone remember that book? Well, that was pretty much my life today...but worse! So, we are going on vacation to meet my family in Las Vegas. Since we are leaving early Monday morning, I went to get a safety check and oil change on the car to make sure that we could make it safely. Not only did they say we needed new brakes (which I already was planning on paying for) but we also needed a new tire, a new tie rod a new belt and an alignment. I only paid for the first 2 and decided to get a second opinion before spending the $700.00 they wanted out of me. So, I went to another place where they told me that I for sure needed the one tire and tie rod. I guess I am young and am a girl so that lady told me I needed a $130.00 tire. I paid for that and left. As soon as my husband found out I paid that much for a tire, he went back with my in laws and asked for a cheaper tire. Come to find out, they had put the cheap tire on and just charged me for the expensive tire!!! WHAT THE HECK??? I am so glad they figured that out. So, they could not do the tie rod today and said they we should not drive to Vegas until it is fixed. To make a long story short (kinda) we now are renting a car and taking that to Vegas basically doubling the cost of our trip before it has even been made! Does not sound like the worst day yet hu? Ha! Well, before we decided to rent a car, we asked my brother if we could switch him cars for the week. I was so excited when he came and our stuff fit in the trunk. Then, Christian tried to put Kennedy's HUGE car seat in his back seat and the side of it broke!!! Now we had no car to drive and a broken car seat and a car to fix! How could it get any worse...my brother bought Kennedy a beautiful, huge snow globe with snow white in it. It plays music and has glitter in it. Kennedy was being so gentle with it and was in love with it. I told her it was time to put it away because it was expensive and I did not want it to get broken. I put it up on our window ledge very carefully. It happened to barely tap the glass of our window and I heard a pop. All of the sudden, water and glitter was pouring out all over our wedding picture and all over the floor! Kennedy was so sad and I felt horrible that I broke it after she was so careful with it. After it was all cleaned up, I made Kennedy a smoothie to make her feel better. A few minutes later, it spilled all over the couch and the floor! I seriously thought I was going to cry! It was really the worst day and I can not wait to go to sleep and start a new day tomorrow.

Play Group

Both of the summer play groups started this week and Kennedy and I have had so much fun going to Wheeler Farm and to the park with our friends. In fact, Kennedy loved it so much that her first full sentence (in broken English) this week just happened to be "Go! Go to park outside. WEEEEE!" As she said wee, she spun her hand in a big circle. It was so cute! Every park that we have passed this week, she begs to go to.

Besides that, I have been busy trying to get a good inventory for both my Etsy shop and the boutique I am doing next Saturday. To see my new etsy shop, click here. And here is the information for the boutique I will be at.

My Petite Boutique

I will probably put this information up one more time before it happens. Hope to see some of you there. A playroom will be offered for your kids as well!

Funny Stuff

When we make Kennedy pancakes, we only put a dab of syrup on it. I spread it around, but Christian just leaves the dot of syrup right in the middle. Want to see what happens to the pancakes when he does this? Here are the leftovers!

At it again!

I made some new stuff and it is up for sale now at Kennabootique!

Rain, Rain...

It has seriously been raining for about 2 weeks straight now. I don't mind the rain to water my garden, but we only have so much of summer here in Utah and the rain and cold weather is cutting into it! This was the view from my back porch yesterday. It looks like it should be night time, but this was taken at around 4:00pm!
Other than that, there is not much to report. I have had a lot more time to sew since I am not watching the baby anymore, and since the weather has been horrible, it gives me even more reason to stay in and get things done! Sorry this post is so boring...real life I guess!

Experimenting

Since I had so much fun making bean bags out of excess fabric, I decided to see what else I could do. Here are one of the burp cloths I made tonight out of a cloth diaper and some ribbon and fabric!

And an unfolded shot

This and That

Lately, I have had Kennedy and the little boy that I watch on the same nap schedule! It is pure heaven! I have found time to clean and read and organize stuff for my garage sale on Saturday. Today, however, I was in the basement and saw how much excess fabric I had that was about to go to waste. I sat and thought what I could do with so little fabric and then it came to me. Make some cute bean bags! I had rice upstairs and I quickly made a few bean bags out of ladybug and cloud fabric that I had. You can't tell from the picture, but I left excess fabric around he edges and frayed them which makes them look so cute!I was happy that I did not have to waste fabric and that Kennedy has some new toys!
Second, I just wanted to say how much I love my Kennedy! She is soooo funny lately and she will do anything t make us laugh. She also talks up a storm and we can pretty much understand her language now. One cute story I want to remember is that she was looking at her Jesus book for kids. There is a page where Jesus is praying and crying in the garden of Gethsemane. She always turns right to that page and says "oh no...OH NO! Jesus cai-ing (crying). Oh no! He hut (hurt)." She continues this for a while and it is so sad and so cute! She loves Jesus. What a sweet girl.
