Just Thankful

Thankful that I have two healthy, beautiful, amazing children! I love these crazy kids!

Kennedy is such a crazy kid and has to make strange faces for every picture. She also loves to say "Holla, Holla!" now when she gets excited. She is too funny!
Liam just loves to be happy, eat and sleep. Here is a picture of him when he crashed out on the floor yesterday morning.

Little Scholars

As many of you know, I was having a kind of inner battle on whether to go back to work or not. It made me sick to think of leaving my children (especially my 4 month old, still nursing baby) at a day care while I worked. Well, right at the exact moment when I felt I would throw up from the pit in my stomach, a friend called. A very inspired friend I think. She said that she needed some extra money but did not want to put her little girl in day care, and asked me if I wanted to start one with her in her home! YES!!! I did not have to think for a second. We have been working really hard to get the licenses, inspections and permits that we need, and we are ready to open already! The license is still going to take about 4-6 weeks to kick in, but until then, we are able to take 4 kids right away. I am so excited for this opportunity. We hope to grow enough to start a real preschool in a building soon. Also, when we get our license, we will be able to accept state assistance for those who can't afford child care as well as get our money for food reimbursed! Can you tell I am excited? Best Valentine's Dinner Ever!

We got a huge pot of crab/lobster/potato/clam/corn goodness at Joe's Crab Shack! Here is a picture with my lovely dinner!

After that, and before picking up the kids, we enjoyed a kid free trip to Wal Mart to get them a little Valentine as well. It was a great night!

4 months old today

Time flies by so quickly with a newborn! It feels like I was complaining about my swollen feet and itchy tummy just yesterday, and now I have a 4 month old! Liam is still a sweet baby. He loves to smile and play and suck his fingers. I love him to death! Today, I had a little photo shoot with him- mind you I am not a photographer, but I wish I were.

Craft #4- Pillow out of an old sweater

I had an old sweater. It was pretty beat up, but for some reason, I could not throw it away even though the sleeves were falling off. But, I found a way to recycle it here! And, this is how it went down.
Here is the sweater before...

I cut it into 2 squares, added some lining and sewed it all together. (though it is not as easy as it sounds.)

And here is my new (lopsided, but none the less cute) pillow!
It was my first attempt at pillow making and I'm not gonna lie...it was a bit difficult. Next time will be much easier. And now to see how I can recycle the sleeves. Any ideas?
