Vegas

We started our vacation this year in Las vegas. I know, a great place to take a kid fresh off of his mission! We stayed at the Excalibur because we knew that it would be fun for Kennedy to stay in a real live castle! It had a fun pool with a slide too. It was great hanging out as a family, eating good food, going on roller coasters and the scary ride on top of the Stratosphere.

At night, my mom was nice enough to watch the kids while my brothers and sisters and Christian and I went out on the town. We rode the roller coaster at New York New York, walked the strip and maybe did a tiny bit of gambling. SHHHH.

Kennedy loved Vegas! She always said "Can we please go back to our castle now?" And all Liam wanted to do every day was "sim" aka swim. He is such a water baby and I love it! Being together as one big family was a lot of fun and inside jokes were common and very hilarious. After 3 days in Vegas, we were off to Lake Powell. I posted a video of our pictures below this post. I will post about Lake Powell tomorrow though.

Besides vacation, a lot is going on in our family. We have set a date to move to Texas on Sept. 11 if all goes well. It kind of sounds like a dooms day to move, but, we feel it will be good for our family. We will probably sell off quite a bit of our furniture before we leave, so if you are in the market for some furniture, let me know!

Posts coming up in the very near future:
1. Lake Powell
2. Grand Canyon
3. Elena's wedding
4. My children...of course!

Vacation 2011

I have A LOT to catch up on, but I thought I would start first with a slide show from lake Powell. We had so much fun! I will post more about our adventures in a later post. We went to Las Vegas first, then Lake Powell, and finally to the Grand canyon. It was so good to see my brother, Kyle, again after 2 years!

Summer

At least I know that 2 people read my blog! I don't blame the rest of you since it has been about 4 months since I have posted anything! Life has been really crazy for the past 4 months or so. And some of has not been a very good crazy either. As of May, I am no longer working at the day care that my friend and I started. I was going to take on all of the kids at my house, but due to some factors that I wish not to write about, I ended up only taking on 2-3 part time kids. Christian has been working at a computer company out in Tooele for about 4 months now. It is a really long commute, but at least he is making up for the money that I was making at the day care.

Our Summer has been pretty fun. My birthday was on July 1st (the LAST year of my 20's!) and my family happened to be in town for it. We went to the Red Iguana which was soooooo good! After dinner, I had a party with some of my good friends at my house. We made smores, danced a little, played games and did a little long boarding afterwards. The 4th of July was fun as well. We went to the parade that comes right by our house and then went to Sandy City for the carnival and fireworks.

The 24th was interesting because it fell on a Sunday...and since we are in Utah, it was actually celebrated on Saturday and on Monday! On Saturday, we did one of our favorite things to do for Pioneer day. We went down to my great grandma's in Spanish Fork, and walked over to the carnival by her house. It was a lot of fun (besides being like 10,000 degrees outside!) We celebrated the 24th again on Monday by going to Liberty park. The kids played in the water, went on rides, ate really greasy food and had a great time. Having an extra holiday is one of the pluses of living in Utah!

This will be an exciting week! Today, my brother, Kyle, comes home from his 2 year mission. In 3 days, we will leave for Vegas/Lake Powell to see him and the rest of my family. I don't think I have ever been more excited for a vacation in my life! The last thing I will writ about today is that I think we may be in for some major changes soon. Christian and I have been talking and praying a lot about moving to Houston. My parents bought a new house, and we can rent their other house which would be great for us. We definitely need more room. So, the job hunt continues in Houston. Thanks to all of my friends who have been helping him to find a job. Now for some random pictures from the summer.
